Why Hanuman sometimes red?
Hanuman asked Rama's wife Sita why she had a red mark on her forehead. She tells him that she applies sindoor or vermilion on her forehead to ensure the long life of her husband Lord Rama.
Hanuman immediately took the vermilion powder and covered his entire body.
When Rama and Sita ask Hanuman about it, he says that since Sita is a goddess, a small amount of sindoor will work for her, but he, being a mere monkey, needs to cover his entire body.
Hanuman knows Rama is the supreme being, and because of his pure love and devotion to Rama, he applies sindoor over his whole body.
