Dewi Sri Goddess, also known as Cili or the Rice Mother she is the symbol of fertility in Bali's rich agrarian culture. She is the most important goddess to the Balinese, as she presides over the life giving rice terraces. There are shrines to honor Dewi Sri in every rice paddy all over Bali. Offerings are given to her at the beginning of planting the rice seedlings to ensure a bountiful harvest of rice, as well prosperity and abundance.
