Meditating Buddha & Naga Hand Carved coconut shell Gilded Gold Balinese Folk Art

Carved Coconut Shell Buddha & Dragon, Traditional handcrafted art made in Tampaksiring Bali where the Balinese are know for this fine type of carving. A coconut shell intricately carved by hand with amazing details using tiny dental tools. The main focal point is The Buddha sitting in the Lotus Pose, hands formed into a mudra or blessing. Curling around the shell from side to side is carved a Dragon. Small flourishes and scrolls cover the whole shell with small details. The whole outer shell is then polished and gilded with gold-leaf.

This would be perfect as an art object or you may also use this a small accent lamp if you add your own candelabra sized cord-set or even battery operated fairy lights.
