Suar wood is prized by the Balinese for it's amazing interlocking grain that is resistant to cracking, it is perfect for carvings like this.
The hands of Shiva held in a mudra upon his lap. A crescent moon adorns his hair and a cobra around his neck as he sits upon a tiger base.
The carving is polished with wax and left the natural color. It is also a very dense and heavy wood that will last you a lifetime.
