Albesia wood, a sustainable fast growing wood is hand carved & hand painted with shades of Green in acrylic paints and decorated with touches red & of gold leaf on her flowing wings. The faces are so sweet!
In Bali originally mobiles like this have been used as protector or guardians of infants. Once a baby's navel cord has fallen off, a Dewi is hung over the baby's cradle. Often taking the form of a heavenly nymphs or goddesses (bidadhari) often with the body of a bird or fish & wings of a bird.
