Beautiful Bhumisparsha Buddha hand carved wood Sculpture sitting in the lotus pose, hand folded in the Bhumisparsha mudra, known as the "earth witness" gesture.

This mudra is formed with all fingers of the right hand touching the earth. This gesture symbolizes the Buddha's enlightenment beneath the sacred bodhi tree & when he bid the earth goddess, Sthavara, to come & bear witness to his achievement of enlightenment.

This is hand carved in Ubud Bali by Komang Rai from suar wood. This type of wood known for it's tight interlocking grain which is resistant to cracking.
