Two Nagas left and right, know as Naga & Nagini. The Nagas are the divine race of half-humans. Naga male and Nagini female.
They are depicted as a human head with snake bodies as half-human, half-snake divine race of beings that reside in the netherworld and can take the form of human or part-human.
A female Naga is called a Nagi or a Nagini. You can see the Naga (Male) on our first image on the left wears a different earring & headdress then the Nagini (female) on the right.
According to ancient legend, they are the children of the sage Kadru, best known as the mother of the nagas, the race of serpents, The Nāgas. .
The Master carver who created this unique work has done a stunning job embellishing this carving with exquisite detail. Every inch is carved, 360 degrees of detailed carving, even the bottom.
The bodies are that of coiled snakes, gently embracing each other. The Faces are beautifully carved topped with elaborate headdresses, the noses are touching in a gentle kiss. The scales of the snakes are meticulously carved one by one. No cracks or flaws are evident on this vintage work.
