Seated Medicine Buddha Bhaisajyaguru Bronze Statue. An older vintage sculpture, this has developed a lovely heavy green verdigris patina.
His right hand, extended downward in a gesture of granting blessings (varada mudra), holds the stem of the myrobalan plant, which represents all medicines.
In his left hand, often resting in his lap, he holds a jar filled with medicine. This symbolizes his power to cure physical and spiritual ailments.
The facial expression and posture of Buddha in this sculpture invoke a sense of calm and divine presence. His serene face and flowing robes add to the aura of calm.
