The Hindu Goddess Saraswati part of the Hindu Trinity of Pravati & Lakshmi. Saraswati is the goddess of Art, Knowledge, music and everything that flows. She is a very important deity in Hindu Bali and shares the same attributes and iconography as Hindi literature in India.
Skillful Balinese artist carved this sculpture from a solid chunk crocodile wood, completely by hand using only simple hand tools. Beautifully detailed, left the natural color of the wood & polished and waxed smooth.
Saraswati is standing a top a goose which is her vehicle. Playing the veena, and holding sacred vedas in her four arms.
This is a one of a kind carving that I have hand selected directly from the artisan in Bali. Beautiful on a table of shelf for display or on your altar.
