Unusual vintage Elephant like creature with bull horns, this Old Temple Offering Box called a keropak from Sabatu Bali is finely hand carved of cempaka wood with a polychrome finish in shades green with goldleaf.
The cover is removable to revel a compartment where sacred objects such as lontar scripts were kept. Has normal signs of wear to the paint which are consistent with an object of this age from Bali. And a stable grain crack on the body under the lid.
