Vintage Rooster Bronze Coconut Oil Lamp crafted of solid bronze in the lost wax method by Balinese craftspeople. Called a Lampu Blancong in Indonesia and often used to illuminate shadow puppet plays.
Three chambers for oil circle the bottom of the lantern, with spouts for the wicks and holes to fill with oil on the inner side of each chamber, topped with a decorative rooster.
Suspended by a chain, with a hook attached to hang from a wall hook or ceiling.
In original found condition. Beautiful aged verdigris patina and signs of use and age. A few small pin holes in the metal due to age. An impressive piece that will display beautifully. A great find, is sure to please the collector of Asian or Indonesian art. Beautiful as part of your eclectic decor.
